Monster Hunter Generations

Gammoth

A picture of a Gammoth stomping.

Physiology

Gammoth resembles a real-life Woolly mammoth. It is by far the largest Fanged Beast known to date. The fur covering its huge body is mostly bluish, although it's also white and red on its trunk, legs, back and underside. It has brown plating covering most of its head and feet, plus two tusks seemingly made of the same material. This plating is said to be extremely resistant to damage. Interestingly, Gammoth is sometimes seen with its legs encased in ice

Abilities

Gammoth is able to breathe snow from its trunk, encasing enemies in snow. When Gammoth blows snow from its trunk, it can encase its legs with the snow. Gammoth has a pin attack, meaning that it can pin down one hunter and pummel them continuously and the hunter has to struggle out of it.

General Information

The Gammoth is a part of the Fanged Beast species. They can harness the element of Ice to attack nearby hunters. It can cause two ailments to hunters and Felynes: Iceblight and Snowman. The two elements that the Gammoth is weakest against are Fire and Thunder, so be sure to use weapons with those elements included. Some of the natural habitats that it... inhabits are the Arctic Ridge, Frozen Seaway, and the Polar Field.

Extra Notes

Gammoth's trunk, front and back legs can be wounded, and the head can be wounded twice. Once a Gammoth has been slayed, the carcass can be carved four times, as opposed to the normal three. To recover Stamina, Gammoth will dig out a large fruit or seed in Area 7 of the Snowy Mountains. Gammoth's legs are designed after a tortoise's legs while its tail is designed after a raccoon's tail. Gammoth's weapons were meant to give a feeling of both power and traditions. In-game, the Gammoth encountered are always female.
