Originally part of a since discontinued daily drawing challenge, "Mandatory" was my first major foray into the world of digital or Photoshop "painting." It cemented digital painting as one of my go-to techniques and I have since pursued it in future projects.

The initial digital line art for Mandatory. I traced over a scanned version of the original pen line art.

The final color version. I began the process with base colors, then shadows, and finally highlights.
