Given the topic of "Touch," this project challenged me to create a piece of artwork that displayed this broad theme in a creative way. We could utilize any medium necessary to do this; I decided to use a medium I'm admittedly not entirely comfortable with and chose to create an acrylic painting.

Lost Sensation
When you think of the word touch, what do you imagine? Some people may imagine soft, lush patches of grass beneath their feet, others may think of a coarse brick wall scratching their arm when they accidentally walk a bit too close. Many people today, unfortunately, may merely think of the smooth, lifeless surfaces of the multitude of electronic devices that we utilize in our daily lives. These texture-less interfaces have changed our perception of touch; masking much of the vibrancy that the feel of natural textures can bring to our lives. This piece is a comment on that; showing how these cold, boring textures are covering up the beauty of being able to touch something natural.
