I have always been stressed out at the idea of learning programming and coding. However, I have really started to enjoy coding and the challenges that come along with it including web development, databases, and design. I can now confidently say I have a good understanding and mastery of HTML/CSS, and JavaScript with back-end languages like MySQL and ASPX quickly developing as well. Coding has become my second biggest passion behind video.
Shorts.com was an e-commerce site I built for my class Advanced Web. Visitors to the page can choose between a wide variety of shorts in many different colors. Upon checking out, it updates the user with the shorts they've purchased, as well as the price of the shorts. I really like the overall design of shorts.com and how it turned out. This was my first time building an e-commerce site, and while it was a challenge, I had a lot of fun coding this website. The project forced me to use a lot of the design skills I knew as well as programming knowledge to craft a functional and well-designed website. So, what are you waiting for?! This Super Smash Bros. website was another Advanced Web project. The assignment was to build a functional website with six different articles or areas for possible content and a cohesive overall theme. I went with the Super Smash Bros. theme as I was actively playing a lot of smash at the time and it was a site I knew I would enjoy building. I wanted to create a one-stop place for fans of the game to come, gain more knowledge, learn more about the game, and get an edge over their opponent. This assignment required good design skills as well as working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and jQuery. Check it out by clicking here or on the image to the right!
This LVC sports quiz was made with the help of Jill Moffat, Nikolai Neufeld-Kreider, Cheyenne Scott, and myself. It was the final group project for our programming class. The quiz consisted of 20 questions that reflected the requirements of the assignment and the code designed to make the quiz function. It consisted of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. The quiz had a score that tracked how many questions you answered correctly and gave you a short message describing how you did. Lastly, the quiz had a quick little animation that led the user to the next question. You can see how good your LVC sports knowledge is by taking the quiz here!
