Overview
This is the 2022 recap video of the St. Mary's United Church of Christ Vacation Bible School. I used Adobe
Premeire Pro to make the video.

VBS went from 6 PM to 8 PM from Monday through Friday. I met with the Pastor on Wednesday evening where he asked
me if I could put together a video recap for the week. I said I would be happy to do that. Starting on friday
evening, I created a rough storyboard for the video. Then, I browsed and downloaded pictures from Google Photos
albums that all the volunteers contributed to. I downloaded a ton of pictures and videos. I made a checklist
so every child appeared at least once in the slideshow. I inserted all the content into Adobe Premeire Pro and
paired down as much as I could. Some higher level volunteers suggested I make it about 5-6 minutes long, so I
used two songs from the VBS lesson plans for the recap. I also made a few graphics thanking each age group who
attended, the volunteers, the family that funded a pizza party on Friday, and the main bible verses this VBS
focused on. I inserted them at the end.
Then I looked up videos on how to make a slideshow effect for all the pictures and videos. I found a tutorial I
liked. It was complicated since it required me to duplicate the content, fill the screen with it, and then add a
gradient blur. Then I went back to reorganize the pictures by day, edit the volume at certain parts, and add
still graphics on top of some content. This last part took the longest because any edits to the content order
messed up the timing of other content. I moved two videos to the very end of the recap, which was different than
what I had on my storyboard, but it made the video recap much better. However, this meant I had to redo some
work I already had done.
After rendering the video Saturday night, it was ready for the Congregation to watch during the Sunday morning
church service. There were a some kids that were there that morning that attend VBS. It was really cool to see
them glued to the projector screen and get excited with their family when they saw themselves. I got a lot of
nice comments after the service regarding how they loved seeing the video.
I am really proud of the final product. Additionally, this was one of the first projects I had to do on a strict
time frame. I had under 36 hours to complete this video recap, and I made some of my finest work to date.
