Overview
The Light Grid Game is a handheld toy designed to alleviate loneliness. This project was started in the fall of
2020, so we were focused on what to help children fulfill some of their social needs since the pandemic forced everyone
into isolation.

We started by researching the effects on people, but children specifically, when they are not socially
developing in school. I found that games are a great way to distract and alleivate loneliness. So, I started
sketching up some potential solutions.
I settled on the color game, but I added the element of "The Simon Says" game or the Reactor task in the
video game "Among Us." This means that the users press the buttons in the order given to them. They earn points
by completing sequences.
I started by designing the case for the Arduino and the whole project in Fusion 360. I orginally had a top on
the case connected with hinges, but I settled on a removable top with 4 screws.
Next, I started programming on Arduino. This was less difficult than I expected, but there were some difficulties
trying to get the sequence to work forever.
We got sent home early, but below is the final outcome of the project.
