Process
I was a student worker for the LVC Digital Media & Technology (DMT) Department for most of my college career. During
the spring of 2022, I was approach by my boss to design a class poster for a new Augmented Reality class coming next
spring. My boss and I had a quick conversation about some ideas for it. I landed on leaning into a 'developmental'
theme. This was meant to highlight the first-time offered course and that AR Technology is in its early stages of
development.
I had never done a sketch project on Photoshop before, so I looked for a tutorial video. I found one that I liked and
went to work. I did not know how it would turn out, so I grabbed two different AR goggle pictures to give myself some
options. We decided to only use the poster that shows more of the AR lens.
After completing the tutorial for both pictures, I fooled around with the background colors. I went between a
blueprint-look and multiple tan colors to look like worn-down paper. I liked tan much better and found a good shade
for it. Finally, I placed the text and tested out several fonts that kept with the 'developmental' theme.
